Wow, this last week saw another online feature for The Handmade Hound! This one was from PoochPicks.com and it highlighted my Personalized Dog Bandanas. Those definitely seem to be a favorite!
Additionally, stay tuned because I will be doing something exciting for August 26th (next Wednesday) which is National Dog Day!
Everyone have a GRRReat weekend with your pups!
Head on over to The Handmade Hound's Facebook Page (http://artist.to/handmadehound) for a sneak peek at my new featured Fall fabrics! At this point I have mostly cottons, but there are some flannels, and of course my stock fleeces. There is no excuse for your hound not to be comfy and cozy this winter! Additionally, I've received several online features for my products recently - including the Daily Tilda! Come see for yourself what everyone loves about The Handmade Hound.
Well.... not really at this moment - it's been in the 90s and muggy in my neck of the woods for a few days! But in no time the kids will be back in school, the football will be in the air, and doggies will need coats! So I've been spending time in the fabric shops lately, scoping out some suitable fall fabrics - and I will say, I have found a couple of winners so far! In fact, a couple of coats have already been pre-ordered for their dogs and are complete. I've also already had several orders for flannel bandanas which has depleted my flannel stock, so next on my list is to find some good flannels - nothing says fall like flannel.
So, keep your eyes peeled in these coming days and weeks both here and on The Handmade Hound's Facebook page for a sneak peek at some of the great fabrics to be offered in fall. There will also be a fall pre-sale coming up to help avoid a fall coat sewing rush for me!
Additionally, don't forget I am still running my special bandana promotion! For each bandana sold between now and 9/6, I will donate $1 to Greyhound Rescue & Rehabilitation of NY's Medical Fund. A worthy cause indeed! So pick up a few bandanas to outfit your pup, and support a hound in need. Everybody wins!
To celebrate the release of Lupine's new "Woofstock" collar design, Phetched.com is giving away FIVE collar/leash sets from Lupine dog products. From now through Sunday, August 9th - you can enter on their site for the set you'd want to win. This is a great giveaway of a great product from a great site! What are you waiting for? Get over there and enter! PHETCHED.COM - LUPINE GIVEAWAY
Well this is an honor! The Handmade Hound has been selected as carrying the Ultimate Dog Accessory for my personalized dog/puppy bandanas at the Tilda in the Burbs blog. The link in the article goes to my Etsy shop, but you can always get them through my regular shop as well (www.thehandmadehound.com). And don't forget, through September 6th for each bandana sold I will donate $1 to Greyhound Rescue Rehabilitation of NY. Thanks to you, my customers, and Karalee and Matilda for your support!

In response to the creation of our very own "Cause" page on Facebook, I've decided to help chip in a little extra. Our group, Greyhound Rescue & Rehabilitation of NY is trying to raise $1,000 for it's Medical Fund. This provides much needed surgery and medical attention to many greyhounds who sustain racing injuries just prior to retirement. So, from now until September 6th (when the pledge drive/fundraiser is over) I've decided to donate $1 for EACH bandana purchase from The Handmade Hound! Outfit your pup in style and support a greyt cause at the same time. I have loads of fabrics, all sizes, and I even personalize for free! A dog can never have too many bandanas, plus they make excellent gifts for newly adopted dogs & old faithfuls alike.
Congratulations to Curator Violet of EtsyStalker! She posted some AMAZING suggestions for my new pincushion (see them here) and is the winner of last week's contest! She will now get to select between a sample of my new dog treat flavor, Snappy Apple Spice - or a personalized custom dog bandana! Congratulations Violet!
Don't forget to participate in this week's contest which ends Friday - it can be found here. The reward is either 1/2 pound of my all-natural dog treats (you pick the flavor), or a personalized dog bandana - your choice! So check out the link and enter! :)
Have a great day. :)
So in case you didn't look closely at the photo from last week's blog, I'll re-post the photo for you here. This is a shot I took yesterday of some of my Beef Pup Pie All-Natural dog treats. Now look closely in the front of the plate. Do you see it? The one treat that isn't shaped like a bone? Yes, the heart! Since I started making my dog treats, I have always listed "love" as the final ingredient on each package. But it was only yesterday that I decided I was going to put a small heart shaped treat into each bag- to remind you, my customers, that there truly is some love in there! Hopefully when you come across the heart in your bag of treats it'll bring both you and your pup a little bit of joy.
Want to try some of my treats for your dog? They come in 4 totally all-natural flavors and are available through my site here! Happy shopping. :)
Okay, instead of starting next week's contest tomorrow, I'm going to start it today! It will run through next Thursday, and at stake is your choice of 1/2 lb. of my all-natural dog treats (you choose flavor) or a personalized dog bandana!
This week's contest is:
What is/are your dog(s) favorite flavor of dog treats?
Simply post in the comments here or make a comment on The Handmade Hound's Facebook page - I'll have a post on the Wall about this. A winner will be selected at random and will be announced on Friday morning.
This is an easy one - happy entering!!
